Pin your poppy, remember the lost, and show your gratitude this Remembrance Day.

From Nov. 5-11 the University of Guelph-Humber will be participating in Veterans’ week. Student Life will be in the Atrium during the week with a table for students to fill out a Postcard for Peace— a message of thanks to Canadian soldiers who have fought in war, which will be sent to the Veterans Wing at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Students will also have access to educational reading materials regarding why we celebrate Veterans’ Week.

A playing of the Last Post will close out the memorial.

Student Life is searching for volunteers to help with both the service and the Postcards for Peace table. For more information, interested students can contact student life at life@guelphhumber.ca or ask a Guelph Humber Students’ Federation member.

Ten minutes away from campus, the Royal Canadian Legion at 11 Irwin Road, Rexdale, will also be commemorating fallen Canadians, starting with a church service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Phillips Anglican Church 31 Phillips Road, Etobicoke, and also a Branch service on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Irwin Hall.
