GH is a style runway!
Students are ridding themselves of boring baggy sweats and trading them for such standouts among fall trendy looks such as military jackets, studded clothing, bold cheetah prints and rose gold accessories.
“Cheetah print scarves and sweaters are subtle but get the point across,” says Claudia Valenzuela, a second year Business Marketing student. “Such an extravagant pattern should be worn in subtle ways.”
“Fall is a weird season between summer and winter, so people get away with mixing things like shorts and jackets together,” notes Chishamiso Shoniwa, a Fashion and Arts student at Humber College. “Over-sized cardigans paired with infinity scarves are fashion forward, not to mention, extremely comfortable.”
Military jackets are worn for fall’s cooler weather.
“I like that they [military jackets] can be played up and played down. For going out they can be worn with high heels but to make the look more feminine, a pastel-collared blouse could be added,” says Family and Community Social Services major, Vienne David.
This look is on the androgynous side, meaning it is not gender specified, so guys and girls can look great wearing this look. The versatile jacket is not only limited to camouflage but is available in several shades of olive green. Pair it with combat boots to complete the army inspired ensemble!
Accessories like studs, spikes and rose gold are adding character and personality to fall outfits. By following instructional DIY YouTube videos, many students have revamped and expanded their wardrobes by incorporating these accessories to various article of clothing.
Along with studs and spikes accessories, rose gold watches have also made a comeback. The timepieces are being paired with bold cheetah prints, bringing a cutting edge to a classic combination.
Oversized sweaters, large infinity scarves and rich brown boots are still fall season staples, but the items listed above are definitely essential additions.
Ultimately, the key to looking great is expressing your personality and fall trends include plenty of ways to do just that.
